Steve Jobs’ Last Words -
I came across this mind blowing article thought it wise to share with you all.
I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world.
In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.
However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

What Defines you
I do not define myself by how many
roadblocks have appeared on my path.
I define myself by the courage I’ve found to
forge new roads.
I do not define myself by how many disappointments I’ve faced.
I define myself by the forgiveness and faith
I’ve found to start again.
I do not define myself by how long a
relationship lasted.
I define myself by how much I have loved,
and am willing to love again.
I do not define myself by how many times
I’ve been knocked down.
I define myself by how many times I’ve
struggled to my feet.
I am not my pain.
I am not my past.
I am that which has emerged from the fire.

Enjoy your life at every moment of every day
Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi. Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and inquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day.

The Power in Giving
When you are generous; when you are kind, you’re always making a difference whether you know it or not.”
There is an energy that flows from giving wholeheartedly. The giver is always rewarded by the mere fact of doing so. You may never know how many people you helped or touched by one simple act of benevolence.

A Letter to Myself
Dear Self,
Don't be afraid to allow yourself to be ambitious. They will note your failures, belittle your accomplishments, and misunderstand your truth. They are flawed. Remember that you are also flawed. They are lost in a mundane routine, while you are riding the highs and lows of a dreamer. You will find a social resiliency that allows you to connect without being harmed.
Focus. Push through the haze, and find your thesis. A story without focus is a plot. You do not live for semantics; do not expect your reader to be interested in them. You live for art, for a clearer understanding of the human condition, and to pull yourself out of a never ending existential crisis. Establish these truths in your writing. Let them know that you are lost. Tell them that you are fighting for inner peace. Tell them that you are angry at your faithless heart.

Then you still have hope
If you can look at the sunset and smile, and find beauty in the colours of a small flower, then you still have hope.
If you can find pleasure in the movement of a butterfly, and if the
smile of a child can still warm your heart, then you still have hope.
If you can see the good in other people, and if the rain breaking on a
roof top can still lull you to sleep, then you still have hope.
If the sight of a rainbow still makes you stop and stare in wonder,
and if the soft fur of a favoured pet still feels pleasant under your
fingertips, then you still have hope.

What goes around
One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.
Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was those
chills which only fear can put in you. He said, “I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.”
Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two.
Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.

Chimamanda 's Mind blowing speech
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Speech On 'Being Liked' Might Change Your Whole Life
Every so often, somebody comes along and says something so honest, so inspiring, so mind-explodingly wise, that there's nothing left to do except stare at them unblinkingly, while letting the bottom halves of our mouths fall to the floor.
Chimananda Ngozi Adichie is totally that person.

Real touching story ...
If after reading this, you didn't conclude within you to make some changes or to improve in some aspects of your life, then something is definitely wrong somewhere..
I saw this elderly gentleman dining by himself, with an old picture of a lady in front of him. I though maybe I could brighten his day by talking to him.
As I had assumed, she was his wife. But I didn’t expect such an interesting story. They met when they were both 17. They dated briefly, then lost contact when he went to war and her family moved. But he said he thought about her the entire war. After his return, he decided to look for her.

Best days of my life
A cruise ship met with an accident at sea. On the ship was a couple who, after having made their way to the lifeboat, they realized that there was only space for one person left. At this moment, the man pushed the woman behind him and jumped onto the lifeboat himself.
The lady stood on the sinking ship and shouted one sentence to her husband.
The teacher stopped and asked, "What do you think she shouted?" Most of the students excitedly answered, "I hate you! I was blind!" Now, the teacher noticed a boy who was silent throughout, she got him to answer and he replied, "Teacher, I believe she would have shouted - Take care of our child!" The teacher was surprised, asking "Have you heard this story before?" The boy shook his head, "Nope, but that was what my mum told my dad before she died to disease". The teacher lamented, "The answer is right".

Barrenness Of a Busy Life
Having goals in life is never a bad thing, especially now that we live in such a fast-paced and results-oriented world where much is expected of us. However, at some point of your existence, have you ever felt that you were just going through the motions of life just to reach the finish line?
Oftentimes, we look forward to the future too much that we tend to lose sight of the present. Be it looking forward to earning a college degree to landing that dream job, we tend to fast-forward the present in order to reach the next milestone. However, the downside to this kind of mindset is that we tend to forget how to live in the present – so much so that we overlook the beauty surrounding us. By the time we notice it, it’s already too late to rectify our mistakes.

Patching Potholes
There is an old joke that I hear every Spring here in the mountains of my home. A police officer sees a car swerving erratically on the road ahead. After pulling the car over he walks up to question the driver. The man looks out his car window and says: "I know what you are thinking officer, but I am not drunk. I was just trying to miss all of those potholes."
That joke rang true to me today as I found myself swerving my own car whenever I could to miss the huge holes in the pavement, though, I couldn't swerve much because of the traffic. When that happened I would hit the brakes but still ended up with a bone jarring thud every time my car hit the pothole.

A Choice to Make
I believe that, at least to some degree, we can each exercise control over our outlook and attitudes. And the problem is - if we don't control our attitudes, they will surely control us.
One farmer took charge of his outlook. He did it by filling his mind with awe and gratitude. He found that doing this gave him more energy to work on problems and to tackle those things that needed
his attention. His neighbour's outlook could not have been more
different.

She has lost 30 pounds and weighted about 90 pounds in her 35 years. She got very skinny, and was constantly crying. She was not a happy woman.

She doesn't know me, But I still know who she is
It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80’s, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb.
He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him.
I saw him looking at his watch, and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

You just have to read it.. very inspiring
I have re-read this a few times and each time, there is something different I have learned. Spend the next 15 mins of your time to read it. It may be one of best thing you have read about concerning your life journey.
Below is the transcript of the talk of Dr. Richard Teo, who was a 40-year-old millionaire and cosmetic surgeon with a stage-4 lung cancer but selflessly shared with the D1 class his life experience on 19-Jan-2012. He passed away few days later on 18 October 2012.
Hi good morning to all of you. My voice is a bit hoarse, so please bear with me. I thought I'll just introduce myself. My name is Richard, I'm a medical doctor. And I thought I'll just share some thoughts of my life. It's my pleasure to be invited by prof. Hopefully, it can get you thinking about how... as you pursue this.. embarking on your training to become dental surgeons, to think about other things as well.

The dog had access to all the rooms in the house. The puppy grew to become a large, beautiful dog and had on several occasions saved d couples from robbery. Hatchi was always faithful, loyal and defended its owners against any danger.

When letting go is better than holding on
A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the ‘half empty or half full’ question.
Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired, “How heavy is this glass of water?”

There's no indispensable person
Sometimes when your feeling important, sometimes when your egos in bloom. Sometimes when you feel that your going will leave an unfillable
hole.
Serenity
Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.
It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control. Its presence is an indication of ripened experience, and of a more than ordinary knowledge of the laws and operations of thought.

The Pastor’s Ass
The Pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.
The Pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again and it won again.
The local paper read:
PASTOR’S ASS OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the Pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.
The next day the local paper headline read:
BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR’S ASS.

Delay your Judgement of others
A lovely little girl was holding two apples with both hands.
Her mum came in and softly asked her little daughter with a smile: my sweetie, could you give your mum one of your two apples?
The girl looked up at her mum for some seconds, then she suddenly took a quick bite on one apple, and then quickly on the other.

Let them walk ...
There are people who can walk away from
you. And hear me when I tell you this!
When people can walk away from you, let
them walk. I don’t want you to try to talk
another person into staying with you,
loving you, calling you, caring about you,
coming to see you, staying attached to you.
When people can walk away from you let
them walk. Your destiny is never tied to
anybody that left. The Bible said that, “They
came out from us that it might be made
manifest that they were not for us. For had
they been of us, no doubt they would have
continued with us.” [1 John 2:19] People
leave you because they are not joined to
you. And, if they are not joined to you, you
can’t make them stay. Let them go. And it
doesn’t mean that they are a bad person, it
just means that their part in the story is over.

Forgiving without condoning or forgetting
I suspect all of us have been hurt in deep
and lasting ways by the words or acts of
another. It's normal in such situations to
feel hostility toward the person who hurt us. If we allow the offense to linger, we may carry the hurt and resentment in the form of a grudge. Usually this causes more unhappiness for us than the person we're mad at. Some religions speak of forgiveness as a moral duty, others as a worthy virtue, and still others impose preconditions on the
wrong doer before he or she is entitled to be forgiven. Whatever your religious views, psychologists say the ability to forgive is closely correlated to happiness and mental health.

How to be Content and Happy with Life
I have to lose weight, get a better job, Buy a car, get a caring boyfriend / get a pretty girl friend , and Build a house then I’ll be happy. I need to get these things and save up a ton of money, then I’ll be satisfied. I need to find my dream girl, get married, and have kids before I can become content. All of these statements tell you exactly what I need to do before I can get happy with my life. Do you know what’s wrong with this picture?
If I were to get all of the things I listed would I be happy? Probably for a little while. Then I would go out looking for something else to make me happy. It’s a learned behavior for most of us. The reason is I am not happy and content with what I have now. If I can’t be happy with what I have now then I will never be happy with anything I ever get. Yet contentment is not something that's found; it is an attitude.

Strength vs Courage
It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubts.
It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.
It takes strength to share a friend's pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.
It takes strength to hide your own pain,
It takes courage to show it and deal with it.
It takes strength to stand guard,
It takes courage to let down your guard.
It takes strength to conquer,

Never say Can't
Can't is the worst word that's written or spoken; Doing more harm here than slander and lies; On it is many a strong spirit broken, And with it many a good purpose dies. It springs from the lips of the thoughtless each morning and robs us of courage we need through the day:
It rings in our ears like a timely sent warning and laughs when we falter and fall by the way.

Persistence
When you're up against a trouble,
Meet it squarely, face to face;
Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it's vain to try to dodge it,
Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer,
See it through!
Black may be the clouds about you
And your future may seem grim,
But don't let your nerve desert you;
Keep yourself in fighting trim.
If the worst is bound to happen,
Spite of all that you can do,
Running from it will not save you,
See it through!

Change the way you think
Here’s a philosophy that helped change my life.
It’s not what happens that determines your life’s future. It’s what you do about what happens.
Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.
